Chris,
I just saw this but last week I dug out my French Vetiver Salter cream and shaved with it twice that week. It really does make a nice creamy dense lather. It's spring so the scent is appropriate. I have the old white tub myself.

Cream versus Soap?
Re: Cream versus Soap?
I'm with you. I've always been a soap guy, but I've been giving creams a shot lately. The lather is just so rich and creamy, it feels amazing on my skin. I've noticed my skin feels less irritated too. Have you tried using a badger brush to lather your cream? It's a game changer. As for a closer shave, I've had mixed results. Sometimes soap wins, sometimes cream. I guess it really depends on the product. It's a great idea to use up your creams first. You never know what you might find! I agree with you Mrmickey.
It's taken a while to narrow down my favored brushes, soaps, and creams.
I find myself looking forward to the next shaving day.

Welcome, Mrmickey!
I wish I could enjoy the classic fragranced shave soaps. In my late thirties I started to become sensitive to fragrances, and that has gotten worse over time. So, I have to stick to certain EOs (essential oils) for scenting, my favorites being varieties of citrus, or I have to get unscented products.
Are creams any more compatible with EO scenting than soaps?

Re: Cream versus Soap?
I've been almost exclusively a soap user. Bought a tub of D.R. Harris Windsor shave cream. Wasn't expecting how easily the brush loaded up, had to back off, otherwise I'd need a bigger face.
