Kiss My Face Moisture Shave
Does anybody have an opinion on this product? I'm wondering if its worth a go; the reviews I have read on it make it very promising.

I have a pump bottle of Key Lime KMF moisture shave. First off, I haven't used it with a brush; only with my hands on a wet face. Using this method, it doesn't lather up real well. When used with a lot of water, it is very slick. Maybe the slickest stuff I 've tried. On the other hand it does not provide much skin protection. It also tends to clog up my razors. The scent is almost non-existent. For a quick with the grain only pass it works pretty decent. I also pump a little on my Williams soap for variation.
I rate it above the cheap can stuff but way below the Trumpers or Taylors. It's inexpensive, so it might be worth a try.
One of these days I might give it a try with a brush to see if it will lather up and protect better.

Hey,
I have posted on this before (somewhere) but here you go:
USE YOUR BRUSH, the KMF stuff is AWESOME. A definite go buy it. It lathers like you wouldn't believe (with a BRUSH-I know it says use your hands, it sucks that way for me as well) and smells pretty nice. I highly recommend the virgin forest scent. Lots of pine smell. IF you do not like that scent, I've tried the mint as well as the lavender. I like the smell of the mint but the lavender gets along with my face better. The bottles I have of this are quite strongly scented, especially once lathered with a brush. Perhaps Joe got a bad one? It happens.
I have tried many creams and some perform better than others or like different amounts of water, but the KMF stuff is pretty easy. I use one pumpful onto my brush (if you have the squeeze tube, use about half of what you would brush your teeth with) and start lathering.
I rate it VERY close to some of the (cough cough) more often mentioned creams on here. But, like I said, use your brush with it. Lathering it in your hand is a poor substitute ...........

I bought some of the KMF along with the bar soap and tried it. I used the brush on the bar soap first and then worked it into the cream, which looks more like lotion. JohnP was right this really does create a great lather and the scent is definately there. The shave came out very smooth but I had more irritation than i've had in a while. I went a bit faster today than I usually do though so I'm not quite sure what to attribute it to. After I busted out a sample of coral skin food and some cutting balm from T&F...the latter really created this burning sensation on my face but after about 30 seconds that went away and I was feelin pretty good. So I would definately give the KMF my recommendation, 11 oz for 6 dollars, which is nice compared to everything else.
I was primarily using KMF moisture shave for several years until I found out about the english creams. The shave is not quite as good as the english creams but the KMF is definately a much better value considering you can get the large pump bottle for $5 and one will last me well over a year easily.
My favorite scent is the key lime, one thing I like to do lately is mix some of the KMF key lime with a bit of castle forbes lime cream. This way I get a great shave and a pungent lime scent without having to use so much of the expensive CF cream.

Perhaps I will try that with my CF limes as well. I love it but its so *(#* expensive I am afraid to use it every day. I also noticed the mild irritation, but only with the limes; the virgin forest (I love the smell, kindof like a pine forest) and the lavender did not have the same effect on me. Truth be told I haven't found many lime shave creams that did not cause me some degree of irritation, CF being one exception.

Well gents, I got around to using KMF with my Savile super. The brush really wakes this stuff up (had to use more water than normal). I had a great shave with it today, along with a Gillette adj and Feather blade. It won't be replacing my Taylors or Trumpers, but it is definitely a good cream for the money.
I still did not get much scent out of it though. Following what ya'll have said, I'll chalk it up as dud in that department.

I'm waking this thread back up because everyone needs to be reminded that a good shave can be had for less money and close to home.
A friend of mine gave this to me when he was getting rid of all the stuff his ex-girlfriend gave him
I have only tried the Virgin Forest variety. I like the smell but it IS very light. I also save a bristle brush to use with this one (some ingredient might not like badgers?!?!) and whisk it til I get lots and lots of lather.
Fantastic shave, clean scent and it's CHEAP compared to anything else.
Try it... you just might LIKE it.

Gerald,
I like the Cool Mint. And I use my badger brushes with it. Maybe because I don't use it often, but I have noticed no issues with it and the brush.

Gerald:
Funny you mention it. Just today, i used a QED Lavender shave stick as a base, and lathered up some KMF Lavender with my SMF brush on top and got a real decent shave. The ingredients seem top notch, with the notable exception being the absence of glycerine. But for the price, its hard to beat.
