Pre-shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Soap/Cream: Queen Charlotte Sandalwood
Brush: Lee Sabini Best Badger
Razor: Merkur HD
Blade: Lord Platinum Class
A/S: Mr. Taylor Splash
The Queen Charlotte cream soaps produce a wonderful lather and I am particularly fond of the Sandalwood scent. I enjoyed a BBS shave (3rd shave on the Lord blade) and the Mr. Taylor splash, as always, was a fine finish.

Well, I didn't find the 620 to be very small, but it is on the 'smallish' side. It was well made - high quaility - had a very comfortable handle but the tight dense knot is more suitable for scrubbing dishes than face lathering, IMO. I understand that it breaks in eventually, but I didn't have the patience. There are guys who claim to really like it, but somehow I don't believe them:Ddruphus wrote:I like it, which is saying a lot because I'm not really a boar guy, but it sure works well with the P.160. I've heard the 620 is very small and only good for face lathering.drumana wrote:Hey Andy - How do you like the Semogue 830? I was thinking of trying one out, but my experience of the 620 wasn't so hot.
Good to hear the 830 serves you well. I'll have to keep it in mind the next time I go crazy buying new gear.

Razor: Merkur Long Handled Classic (23C)
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Brush: Omega 646232 "Vivaldi" artificial badger
Cream: Erasmic (old formula)
A/S: Thayer's Lemon Witch Hazel, 4711 Splash
Very smooth and close shave, except for a small weeper. When that happens, it usually means it's time to change the blade. This was my 5th on this blade, about the limit for me when using an Astra. This was the first time using the Omega synthetic, and it had no trouble making enough creamy lather in my latte cup/lather bowl for 3 passes + touchup.
The 4711 splash (also first time use) provided an excellent finish. The scent, to me at least, seems somewhat similar to that of Speick splash.

Sunday Night:
Edwin Jagger DE87 razor
Dorco ST301 blade
Semogue 830 boar brush
Cella soft shaving soap
Lather made in a bowl.
Thayer's Original Witch Hazel, mixed with a tiny bit of lather and massaged into the skin.
Though I used the milder Dorco ST300 for a long time, this is my first experience with the sharper ST301 and I am impressed. I found it very sharp and smooth.
