I suppose one reason it lasted well was that I didn't take it on any flights, due to it being too big for carry-on, but that accounts for a measly 35 or so out of the last 730 days.

That is impressive!

I have the perfect solution for Skin Food and airline travel. When I first started using Trumper products, back in the day (2006 I think), I requested and received a free samples pack from them which included two small bottles of skin food - Coral and Limes. Both were used up pretty quick, but they make perfect travel bottles for the stuff ..... I use them all the time. Just wash them out when they go empty, let them air dry for a couple of days and fill 'em up for the next go round.

Aah, the days of free samples. That sample pack looks to be eight quid now.

On our recent trip to Iceland/Scotland/England I just decided to check my bag. This kind of made my extensive research into what to take in a tiny carry-on version of a dopp kit enjoyable, yet futile.

I took a 100ml bottle of Limes with me (everything I had was carry-on approved anyway - razor was an old brass handle and Trac II cartridges).

I stopped in at the Trumpers on Curzon Street, I should have asked, all innocent like, if they had any samples to hand out. . .I would have stumped up the eight quid at a push.
