Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Razor: Merkur Long-Handled Progress, Merkur moustache razor
Blade: Treet DuraSharp
Brush: Omega 31025 "Scarlatti" Boar
Soap or Cream: Proraso Green Tea with Aloe Soap
A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Diplomat Splash

I have been trying to use the Omega brush as often as possible in order to break it in more rapidly. However, it has performed well and has been comfortable right from its initial shave, so I guess that there is no big hurry. This morning's shave was excellent and the little Merkur moustache razor was a big help in shaving between my nose and the moustache, a job that is a little difficult for the Progress and other large razors.

Thursday, May 3rd

Razor: Merkur Futur
Blade: Schick Chromium
Brush: Vie-Long Beehive (Horse/Badger)
Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Soap: Mikes Natural (Rosemary and Peppermint)
A/S: Taylor Shaving Shop

I received a tin of Mikes Natural Shave Soap from the B/S/T yesterday and had to take it for a spin this morning. It reminds me a lot of the peppermint Prairie Creations shave soap that I used to own, which is not a bad thing at all. The peppermint oil provided a nice cooling sensation and helped to open up the sinuses...an excellent benefit during allergy season. I enjoyed a great shave and look forward to using Mike's soap again.

Thursday morning:

Provence Sante Verlain
Omega 10019 boar
OCMM
1st blade: Vintage GEM MicroMatic Durinium
2nd blade: GEM SS ptfe (2)
Kramperts Finest Bay Rum

Months ago I was sent Blade #1 by a friend to try it in a MM and tell him how it worked. Well, A modern GEM blade is sharper after 14 shaves than this one straight out of the wrapper. BUT there are factors out of ones control with a vintage blade. This is a carbon steel blade and carbon steel blades rust just by being in humidity. How and where was it stored? I have no idea. Maybe the blade was fantastic when new. I'll never know. The balde didn't even make it through one pass. I swapped to the OCMM with the modern blade to finish the shave.

Great shave otherwise.
