I don't like rubbing them on my face, plus it only takes about 5 minutes to make it once the soap has softened.
Well worth it in my opinion, I can now enjoy those abandoned sticks again.

Oh What a Difference the Right Blade Makes

Preshave: Shower and Cetaphil
Soap: SCS Bay Rum
Brush: Omega Boar Hair
Razor: Weishi
Blade: Wilkinson Economie - 1st Shave
A/S: Pinaud Clubman Bay Rum

My last two shaves were awful. I had been using the 7AM blades that were in my sampler pack. Tossed the blade after two shaves. Cut the heck out of myself. I was getting worried. I was worried my technique was geoing down the tubes. Tonight I tossed in a Wilkinson Economie tonight, and man, the difference. Almost a BBS shave. Probably my best shave in months. No cuts, no nicks, no irritation. This blade is without a doubt my favorite so far.

The SCS soap is one that I got for Christmas. I got six different SCS scents that I've been working through. I love Bay Rum, and SCS does not disappoint. Great SCS quality with delicious Bay Rum scent.

Of course, unless you only want lather at the tips of the brush as written in Chapter 4, Section 1a of the Barber's Manual, where you only want to do gentle motions (not swirling) on the soap.
If I couldn't swirl I would surely resign
to hand applied soap and cream. I read
and promptly discarded the outlandish
Simpson's instruction manual.

R.A. Herder straight razor
Simpson's Chubby 1
Hard Water (bleh)
Valobra Shave Stick
Booster Aquarius

Dab of Old Spice

I think I overhoned the Herder straight. It mowed down everything in sight but it was pretty uncomfortable, much like a Feather AC shave. First time I've had that trouble, I don't know whether to be proud of my super-sharp edge, or what.

Thursday:

40s Gillette SS / Gillette Swede (Day 4)
Vulfix #2190
Arko Sensitive
Alum / EtOH / WH

Result: B+

First day back at work so a bit more time pressure. A bit nervous about using a blade on day 4, such has been my extravagance with Feather blades (throw out after 3 shaves). Turned out to be fine.

I realised my technique had been getting sloppy with increased pressure being used. I used a very light technique today and while I didn't get a BBS shave it was a very comfortable one.

Back to the Slant tomorrow with my newly arrived Derby Extra blades.

Simpsons Chubby 3 Super
Trumpers Sandalwood SC
Trumpers Astor A/S & EDT
HD w/ EW

My tub of sandalwood does not have the Address printed , so that suggests New formulation maybe, but it looks super dense and almost like the Harris/Green Pond Sandalwood in texture.

Thursay a.m.:

Razor: Gillette Knack
Blade: Derby
Brush: Shavemac
Cream: Trumper's Limes
A/S: Trumper's Limes
Moisturizer: None

I'm developing a love for the Knack. Or maybe I'm getting the knack of the Knack? :D

Great shave. Not BBS, but definitely excellent and gentle. I'll try a Crystal blade with it and see how that is.

Trumper's Limes is very nice. Both the soap and the A/S. I'm realizing the differences between quality aftershaves and the stuff of my youth.
