Pika (Nuka) shaving cream review

Post by crackstar »

Guys, first of all, I'll teach you all a little about the Cyrillic alphabet. It is what certain languages such as Russian, Ukrainian, Macedonian, Bulgarian, and Serbian are written in. Now, I speak, read, and write fluent Russian, as well as Ukrainian, and because of the similarity of these languages, I can also read and understand Bulgarian as well as the other Slavic languages which use this interesting alphabet. What appears to be "Nuka" is actually Пика
in Cyrillic cursive writing. Пика is the printed word. Anyway, what does
Пика mean? It means Spades, as in a card game! Now, let's talk about the cream a little!

Ease of lathering: 10/10--A pleasure to work with. Mountains of lather.

Longevity of lather: 10/10--Perfect. Stable as you could want it to be.

General skincare: 8/10--Very good. Soothes and protects. Menthol is listed, but there's no cooling.

Scent: 8/10--Nice and fresh. The menthol is there for the scent. (I think)

Price: 9/10--Very reasonable. No complaints from me!

Would I buy again: 9/10--I imagine I would. It's a hell of a good cream.

Another top-of-the-line cream from Biofresh Cosmetics. They produce several other great creams such as Spatia, (the blue packaging) Rose of Bulgaria, etc.

Ron, between you and I, the Spatia cream is probably the best one of all of them, at least for the skincare. The scent is nothing to freak over, but the lather and soothing effect are A-1. The Rose of Bulgaria cream is also a treasure although the scent annoys me!

both the rose and lavender bulgarian creams produce really great lather, but I am more annoyed at the lavender being touted as "lavender"...there is no trace of lavender at all !...

Ron, you won't believe this, but it's KARO and KUPA - remember, it's the Cyrillic alphabet!

I personally have no use for the Karo Fresh cream - in fact I think it's lousy. The scent is nothing to write home about, the lather and stability are perfect, yes but the menthol effect is almost non-existant, and the general skincare to me is severely lacking. I think the Kupa creams are much, much better, and I never tried any of the Amigo or Aspis creams.

I have all of these from samples they shiiped me. I was going to import from Aspis but they backed out as I stated before somewhere. It's good stuff all around even their Amigo line.

I got to try the Nuka Menthol Cream from Bulgaria today. I ordered it with the Figaro Cream and Aftershave. Crackstar got me started on Barbon and Figaro, so I decided to try the Nuka. I am going to order some Rose of Bulgaria soon also, now that Shaveabuck.com is stocking the aftershave again...or apprears to be.

This is the house brand for Bio-Fresh, makers of Rose of Bulgaria products. The Nuka instantly produced volumes of smooth, cushioning lather with a nice fresh scent. I could not detect the menthol though. I had an excellent shave. It is hard to beat for $2.99!

I also have the Aspis Ice Rain cream which is very soothing and quite cooling. Its lather is unbelievably rich.

I've had good results from some of the lesser known (here anyway) European creams so these may be worth a try.
