Ove the 500c. I only had it in my hands once or twice in shops. The heft and feel is second to none for me. And the Planar 80 is a great lens choice.

Insofar as your son is concerned -- he is pure hero material in my estimation. Well done. Thank him for me.

It's been about forty years since I had to really rely on an external meter. This weekend I learned that changing the film means changing the meter's ISO setting—of course it does, and I know it, but I don't get the reminder to do it when the camera has no ISO setting (and no wiring or electronics at all). This picture is of today's roll of XP2 hanging up to dry. You can see where I realised my error:



One stop of underexposure should be salvageable in postprocessing, but the reduced dynamic range of film means there will be a price. The Leica M Monochrom has spoiled me rotten in this regard; it will forgive anything except a blown highlight.

Very impressive first-time shot with a Hassleblad --- they are possibly the most intimidating cameras of their time -- or of any time for that matter. They are capable of producing unbelievable results in the hands of someone skilled enough to understand its strengths and limitations.

Nicely done as always.

I've held a Hasselblad in my hands but that's about the extent of it. Believe I will continue to admire the work of my betters and limit my participation in this thread to vicarious.

I just got a couple rolls of Ektar, myself - one in 35mm and one in 120, so I, too, will be giving them a try at some point. What I see here is encouraging, as these shots - well composed, as usual - exploit the color nicely.

Not sure which I like better --- the 500c or the M9. Both produced great results under the hand of an accomplished photographer.

Taken this morning on Ektar 100 and developed with a Unicolor Presskit.





and converted to monochrome in LR with some heavy-handed work in the colour mixer to show it can be done (a result of a thread on another forum where I was pointing out that C-41 development is very easy and one could make a case for using C-41 colour film for monochrome pictures):
