I would like a SS razor but most are too expensive for me at the moment. Are there any less expensive ones you guys can recommend? Thanks

Not offhand, does it have to be stainless?

You didn't state a price range, so I'm not sure what you consider expensive.

For the record, Ralf Aust has plain jane 5/8 stainless razors for about $120 on his website.

I can't think of anything cheaper off the top of my head. I just got a 6/8 stainless from Ralf's site and it is a very nice shaver. Be prepared for slightly more work honing them, they (all stainless) are tougher than carbon steel...

It's the "cool" thing to have I read on the other forums. Never mind that they are outlandishly priced and shave no different than a vintage one. No thanks.

Weber was offering the most reasonably priced among all-stainless razors, but it appears they are only offering razor handles right now.

Caution: Are we talking about straight razors or safety razors? I will presume safety razors, because duh!! This is the safety razor forum. :D If that is the case, I highly recommend the (not cheap) stainless razors from Mongoose (single edge). If you're talking about DE razors I recommend IKON. The head is where the money and magic is, the interchangeable handles are cheap and plentiful. Unless the maker of the handle has his head in the sand, virtually all handles are interchangeable with all heads, regardless of brand. Get the head you want then go get the handle you want. This is a HUGE aftermarket shaving industry. You probably already know the shaving forums are awash with stainless heads and stainless handles. Good luck! Let us know what you end up with.

Sadly, there aren't any truly affordable stainless razors on the market these days. At least none that you can easily purchase. They're unobtanium. I assume you're looking to spend less than $100 for a complete razor. If you're willing to spend more, choices expand dramatically. Suddenly, Ikon and ATT enter the picture. And, the Feather ASD2.

Stainless handles are another story. They can be obtained easily and very cheaply. One good option is to buy a stainless handle and a Muhle (zamak) head. Out the door for $40 or so.
