Primarily, I am glad to know that Martin Truex Jr who is my favorite driver, will be returning again for the 2022 season. In addition, it seems that NASCAR will be mandating major changes to the structure and construction of the racing vehicles. Many major changes and updates will go into effect this season. The season begins in early February at Daytona.

The 2022 season got off to a good start on Sunday. The redesigned and mandated race cars performed beautifully.

Not sure the cars would be able to manoeuvre the corners very well.

Ask and you shall receive! Today and tomorrow NASCAR is racing on the Circuit of the Americas in Austin TX. This is a certified Formula 1 track. Tomorrow's race is the cup series. Today's races are the truck series and the Xfinity racing series, all of the above are part of NASCAR.

Martin Truex Jr. has been (still is) my favorite, but lately (5 years!!!) he seems to start further back in the pack, and still hasn't won much. I think he's lost his focus. I'm very disappointed. Maybe it's time for me to try to pick another favorite - someone who is obsessed with WINNING!

Side Note: If anyone's reading these Nascar posts, remember Danica Patrick? She is being credited (elsewhere) as being the first and only female to have won the Indianapolis 500. She didn't win - she led a few laps! Heaven knows I wanted (still do) her to win a race, any race! Now she's a thing of the past, and we're still hoping someone of the female persuasion will actually WIN! It'll happen, sooner or later! Probably not Danica since she's no longer racing.
