Straight Razor Information: what do you know about this...

Hi,

I've just joined hoping that someone can help me with some information please.

I bought my straight razor over 20 years ago, eventually learnt to shave with it and became quite proficient. I basically stopped using it when I lost my (head) hair (I don't think these are connected). :D

I've just found the razor at the back of a drawer and I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about the razor. It says on the razor, The highly popular Koh I Noor diamond edge.

I've attached some pictures. I seem to remember being told it was made around 1890, but I'm not sure and I'd love to know.

Thanks in advance.

Website StRazors.com has one listed and sold, including a bit of information regarding the company, but doesn't seem to indicate any info regarding the dates of manufacture. http://strazors.com/index.php?id=539&do ... mond_edge_
A bit of searching the web and I found a nutshell history of the company. https://www.flickr.com/photos/25229906@N00/32176514921
It seems the company adopted the trademark Diamond Edge in 1864 and the company closed in the 1960's.

I would have sworn that was a British razor of the 1860's. Glad to learn something new!
