Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Razor: 1967 Gillette Slim Adjustable*
Blade: Astra Keramik*
Brush: Simfix Grosvenor LE Two-Band*
Soap or Cream: Penhaligon's English Fern Soap (tallow)*
A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Trumper's Marlborough Splash*
I think it's fun to shave with discontinued products, especially when they perform as well or better than present-day items. The items with asterisks are, sadly, no longer being produced. I won't say the Slim Adjustable is the equal of the Futur, but it's pretty darned good. It would be difficult to top this morning's shave.

Gentlemen,
It's a cloudy and introspective day here in the province, a good day to stay home with a Russian novel and a samovar of tea. The shave took time this morning, because I felt like shuffling along with a turtle. Here is the shave:
Razor: Feather stainless steel DE
Blade: Feather
Brush: Semogue 730 HD silver tip
Cream: Plisson
Scuttle: Schwarzweisskeramik
Pre-shave: Castle Forbes
Alum
Witch hazel: Thayers Super Medicated
Balm: Institute Karite
Aftershave: Old Spice
Music: A pair of Beethoven "early" string quartets
Finisher: Russian-style tea and a return visit with Fathers and Sons, a novel by the Russian Ivan Turgenev

Mournful Monday
Becker scuttle
Homemade frankincense & myrrh preshave oil
Somerset Simpson Tulip 4 Super brush
Penhaligon's Lords shaving cream
Wilkinson Sticky razor
Gillette Platinum Plus blade (2)
Houbigant Fougere Royale aftershave
All old stuff today. The T4 is always luxurious, and the Lords has rapidly become a top favorite. The aftershave is spicy but subtle. A wonderful shave to start the week.

Morning morning:
Hot towel face prep
Vitos SIS
$.50 chinese boar brush
GEM 1912
GEM SS ptfe (12)
handcrafted bay rum
While the blade clearly isn't new it continues to shave great, though differently, so I continue to use it. Todays shave was another easy 2 1/3 pass BBS .
The $.50 brush I got at a liquidation/surplus inventory/insurance claim salvage store; actually 133 of them- I bought every one they had. I have nio idea who the maker is or what label they were going to have slapped on them, but they are really very nice face lathering brushes.
Some day I need to do a "dirt cheap" shave. The $.50 brush, ARKO, and whatever else I have that is the least costly of it's type.
