Homemade frankincense & myrrh preshave oil
Georgetown G4 scuttle
Somerset Simpson Duke 1 Pure (19/45)
Taylor of Old Bond Street Mr. Taylor's shaving cream
Schick M1 Adjustable
Schick Plus Platinum (3)
Taylor of Old Bond Street Shaving Shop aftershave
A good shave. This is one of my pure badger brushes that actually works like a best. For some reason the M1 and Mr. T shaving cream together produce some drag, rather than glide. And because of my recent failed trial of Acqua di Parma my skin is still irritated, and the aftershave really burned for little while this morning.

Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Razor: EJ DE87
Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium
Brush: Simpson Colonel X2L Best
Soap or Cream: Taylor’s Sandalwood Hard Soap
A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Taylor’s Sandalwood Splash
This was my first use of the Polsiver SI blade. I could tell from the first stroke of the razor that this was a quality blade and that this morning’s shave would probably be an excellent one–and it was! I do think that this is the same Super Iridium blade that became unobtainable from vendors a couple of years ago. It gave a very smooth, close, and comfortable shave. I used to get a dozen or so great shaves from the old Super Iridiums (5 or 6 is my usual limit with most other blades), and it remains to be seen if that will be true with the “new” Polsilver SI blades. I must add that the Colonel X2L and Taylor’s Sandalwood soap did their part exceptionally well and, of course, the Taylor’s Sandalwood splash provided an excellent, fragrant finish.
