Elite Razors

Let's talk about single and double edged razors and the blades that they use.

Elite Razors

Post by Leisureguy »

I recently bought a razor from EliteRazor.com, and thought I would share the experience.

I got what had been a gold Hefty Classic ("HD"), but with a new handle of gold-laced onyx. It's gorgeous, and it shaves as well as any HD, plus I like the feel and balance---and like very much the look.

Delivery was prompt, interactions were pleasant, and I'm going back again in a month or so and get a long-handled razor.

He also has razors with with handles of various exotic woods and handles of neo-resinate. You guys who resonate (couldn't resist) to beautiful razors ought to check these out.

Leave some for me.

He had a 38C in gold-laced white quartz that was unbelievably beautiful. I figured one of you guys would grab it in a heartbeat, so I beat you to the punch. Now I have two. :)

BTW, I imagine if you want a particular Merkur razor done in this fashion (Progress, for example, or long-handle Slant, or whatever), he could do it for you. Contact him if you have a special request.

Yes, the razors are absolutely beautiful. I have a slant with the gold-laced lapis handle. It's a work of art. It shaves well, too. The handle looks like it would slip in the hand, but it actually doesn't.

Hey yohann, none of them slip if we keep our hands dry. They are beautiful razors and think I'll give Bob a call. If Merkur won't give me what I want perhaps he will.

Bob is incredible to deal with and he does simply amazing work. I own two of his razors and am very happy with both. My favorite one is a very special one of a kind western diamondback rattlesnake razor. Pictures don't do it any justice as it is phenomenal in person.

Here is my other Elite razor. It is currently being used as an example on his site and is made from honduran rosewood burl. I upgraded it to the gold option. I noticed he has a couple new ones quite similar to this currently available.

True enough, Squire. However, I will admit to not being as careful as I should all the time. It's in those rare moments :D that having an implement that will make up for user error can be great.

When I shave with a straight, though..........the hands are always dry.

Thanks for the welcome, guys.

I received my razor today, and it is really nice looking. Feels great too; can't wait to use it tomorrow.

I got the ocean blue neo resinate in the 38C style.

by the way, football season is almost here. Rutgers summer practice started yesterday; they open up with a Big East matchup against Cincy on Labor Day, 4 pm, I think -- on ESPN.

Beautiful new razor plus college football is almost here -- life is good!

Here's a pic of my slant from Elite Razors. Merkur slant head, with a gold-laced laips handle. It's much lovlier in person.
It shaves great, but is languishing away as I shave with straights for the most part, and with my iKon when I use a DE.
I'm debating whether to keep it or not. I'm sure that if I get rid of it, I'll regret it; so it stays......for the moment. :D

There are some stunning looking brushes on his site as well.

The red jasper handle is a work of art
