Re: Old Shaving Ads

Welcome to SMF Aditya77! I enjoyed reading your remarks. Because of my age, I understand the advertisements that I see, not because I might become a customer, but because I am the product of generations gone by. The modern motivations are clearly not identical to those of the old advertising. Societ...

Re: Hanging Hair Test

Cutt'n hair is the name of the game. The only hair I cut with my razors - straight or safety - grows on my face.
If they don't cut I change the disposable or sharpen the open blade. Fooling around with one long detached silly hair? Not me.

I agree with you Mrmickey. :D
It's taken a while to narrow down my favored brushes, soaps, and creams.
I find myself looking forward to the next shaving day.

Re: Hi From Perth Western Australia

Vittoria, when I was younger, I always wanted to take my wife and visit your continent, specifically Darwin and Perth.
No specific reasons, they just seemed to be interesting to us.
Well, we've never made it, but who knows what the future holds.

AOS (Art of Shaving) Peppermint cream was an excellent choice this week.
The cream is semi-hard, and I loaded the brush just as I would a soap.
The Thater brush built a luxurious lather.

This week's soap is no longer available, unfortunately. Fine Green Vetiver which I have placed in a tube a few years ago. I must have done something right because the lather and overall performance this morning were delightful. Lots of thick lather that did not dissipate. Slick and smooth, and one o...

Re: BBQ Grills and more specifically, Kamados

Have used our Big Green Egg for 40 years. It was one of the originals, and I bought it from my father-in-law for $25. It's all I ever use outside. I've got a couple of accessories primarily rib racks and a smoke tray in which I occasionally use the pellets instead of the logs.

We're visiting our relatives in Baton Rouge this Thanksgiving. We always enjoy it. In October I'll be watching the Ol'Miss LSU game at home on TV. Better get your reservations early!

I'm not there yet but my son is right there with you guys. Nothing up top so he's shaving what does grow, and his long full black beard compensates.
He's told me what he uses to shave the scalp, but I can't remember what he uses.

Caswell-Massey Number Six shaving cream this week. CM began business in 1752 in Newport, Rhode Island where it still resides. The cream is protective and very slick. I use a brush on it, not creating thick lather like soap but there is a stable and creamy coating that provides optimum protection and...

Honestly, when the time comes and I use it a couple of times, I'll probably agree with you!😀 Oh well, it's going to be a while before all of my creams and soaps have disappeared anyway.

Is the Norelco electric razor considered a safety razor?

Don't really know (or even care)! :D Today I stumbled upon my late dad's Norelco. His shaving days came to an unintentional and abrupt end in 1975. He probably wasn't using it very often before that because he was loyal to the soap in a can and the Gillette razor and blade. It's been in the case, in...
