T&H Luxury soap is great, it should be on everyone's shortlist. Back to the Injector blade in the Feather today.

Sunday:

Gillette Aristocrat (no date code) / Gillette "Swede"
Geo. F. Trumper's Violet Shave Cream
Caswell-Massey Number Six Aftershave Balm

My first shave with the Artistocrat. A nice, heavy, feel in the hand. It gave me a good shave, and I think I'll try it for the rest of the week.

Ahhhh, Sunday:
- Merkur HD/w Feather blade (note to self: new blade tomorrow for the new week)
- C&E Almond Oil cream

Since I was told to take the first shower (unusual for me), when I rinsed my lather mug out I dumped all the lilac-smelling lather into the shower. :7)

No cologne today since I made pesto after church. And yes, rubbing your garlic-y hands on the stainless steel sink does make the smell go away!

Sunday:

Vulfix 2233
Col Conk Bay Rum shave soap
Merkur HD with Derby blade
Witch hazel
Nivea Sensitive ASB

I'm still working on getting the hang of lathering with the soap. It was a little thin today.

I got a great shave with the Derby blade, which is good because I was starting to think that I was only going to get superior shaves with the Feathers.

Sunday:

Gillette '40s Superspeed & Israeli Personna blade
D R Harris's H3 Best Badger
Trumper's Violet shave cream ( yeah, Bob, me too )
D R Harris's A/S Milk ( old version )
Trumpers Wild Fern ( from the splash bottle, damn it! )

Note: This is about the 'mildest' set-up that I use. The heavier old style English creams, like the Trumpers, or Coate's, work well for me, but stuff like Nancy Boy or T&H UC just have too much cushion for my taste. The Israeli blades are excellent, IMO, but not quite so sharp as the UK Gillettes, or even the Tescos. Very nice shave, very comfortable and pleasant, and just about as close, really, as the somewhat more 'aggressive' combinations that I also use.

Gordon, believe me or not, the best DE blades I ever shaved with are the Sharps. Not only that, they're so forgiving as well.
