The Wilkinson blades are not Personna. IMO, the Wilkinsons, if made in Germany like most available in the US, are perhaps a hair better than the Personnas, and I like the Personnas.

I like the Personna, Merkur, Israeli NoName, and Derby Extra blades.

Oh yeah, the Feathers are good blades too.

I think Feather or Swedish Gillettes are great blades.

Personas - at Walmart
Derby - eBay
Merkur - online from any reputable purveyor of shaving goods.

If the Wilkinsons say "Made in England" on the back, snap them up!

What does the labeling look like on the dollar store blades? If there's no brand, and it's marked "Made in USA" somewhere, then they are Personnas. If they're selling at 10 for $1, they should be worth it.

Whichever you don't have at the time  . I quite like English Wilkinson blades. I also like the German blades in a few razors. I also like Derby blades and 'Swedish' Gillettes. Feather blades are great in a couple of my razors and rubbish in a couple others. I haven't had very good luck with the "Israeli no names", but quite a few gents here like them. I haven't even got around to the Merkur blades, yet I have enough to last me a couple years. I recommend you try the LetterK sampler pack. Some blades work better on different faces and in different razors.

ad, Jeremy's suggestion of the 'sampler pack' is a good one. It will give you an opportunity to try many of the better blades with little hassle or expense. As you can, no doubt, see from the above, there is no such thing as 'the best blade'. Different shavers have different preferences, based on a whole bunch of factors. What you're looking for is the 'best' blade for you. The various blades that most of us prefer are all only available through mail order, if you live in the US.

I personaly like Wilkerson blades. Of course for me the blades makes little difference its the razor that makes the difference. I would also agree with Jeremy, try different brands and see which works best for you.
