I found this whilst doing a little web browsing.

Just in case any of you wanted to let the little lady of the house know what you might like as a treat for Christmas.

Wow -- USD $135 for a bowl of shaving soap. At that price, the soap should lather itself on my face AND it better be "an eye catcher in the bathroom".

Well, the Joris is one of the best hard shave soaps available, but obviously, here, one is paying for the special bowl....and a hugh mark up ( chuckle ). This offering is available on a couple of other websites, but is always very pricey.

A few years ago there was a vendor in Texas - not specifically a seller of shaving supplies but she had some items that she was closing out, Joris and a few of these beautiful shaving bowls. The Joris was $7 per puck and the bowls were $35. I took advantage of that opportunity.

Yeah, I'd jump on that Steve!

On the other offering - um, not so much

Steve, Yeah, I remember that one....definately a good deal. I didn't jump on it only because, although I found the Joris soap to be excellent, I wasn't over fond of the scent. But they sure do charge up the yin yang for those bowls, don't they?

That is indeed expensive. The price I have seen here in Nice is €75 ($110).
You can get it for €71,50 if you buy it straight from Vikim Diffusion.
