Shawn, Yes, that is one of the two that Corey Greenberg originally got. I don't remember who has my original #377 now, Tony bought it from me but then re-sold it. This run of Vulfix whitecaps were no denser than their regular Super models and the tips were rather 'prickly'. The current versions that Chris M. is telling us about are clearly denser and have softer tips. If my bespoke #377 has been like his apparently is I doubt that I ever would have considered selling it.

I still have it Gordon. While it is a 2 band, it is not as soft as the ones being touted these days. It is a nice brush, though, just not as soft on the face as some may want. I don't have a problem with the density, but I prefer a less dense brush, as I prefer the flow through I get with them.

Mike, Ah, yes....thanks for chiming in! Your impressions and description of that #377 match mine entirely. I'm glad to hear that you are still using and enjoying it.

I'm so indecisive, PJ2, PL8 or T3?!

I honestly can't decide which I want to try first, The Superior Shave has a nearly perfect specimen of both the PJ2 and T3...

Of the three listed I am assuming the PJ2, has the best flow and is a better all around brush, no?

My money is on the tulips........best brush evah!

1. it has a little less backbone than the pj

2. the handle is better

3. 'cause i said the t3 is better, it is

clive

p.s. if anything, polo long long long before the pj In fact, if the polo 8 had a chubby / tulip handle it would probably be the very best brush money could buy

Haha Clive, that's the thing, I'm not too found of the T3 handle, but I do like the PJ's or Polo's better

Aaron

if you dont like the handle because it is 'large' the polo might be an issue for you as well because that comes with a rather large (thick, if you will) handle too

Outside of the handle though, the polo is a truly a magnificent brush and so i will have to pull a classic smf:

buy the polo and the pj LOL (now a bona fide OED word!!)

Clive, I'm glad you mentioned that, I did not take diameter of the handle into play...

I used my D2 today for a baseline, and I don't think I want anything wider around than that, which leads me to the PJ2...

I just hope its not too springy and flows well with everything I use...

I can't believe I missed this thread! I agree with you Chris, the 2-bands perform above all others IMO for face appeal.

Thanks for sharing you pics, and thanks all for your comments! This was a great read.

Now ain't she a beauty?

Yes, another PJ3, but this time from Manxland rather than Zummerset.
I feel a bit like the Sforza duke in The Borgias when I tell you she will be broken in with some Irisch Moos tomorrow!

So, how did it go Chris? After that lovely prelude, we need a full report!

Very nicely! Not quite like the Somerset version - a little finer hair and a bit softer at the tips. The handle shape, if translated to the human body, would be one that could afford to lose 10lb compared to the Somerset. But all in all, a lovely brush.
