What is your opinion on fine shaving creams and hard soaps? Do you like Trumpers, Coates, Taylors, Truefitt & Hill? Post your reviews and opinions here!
I haven't tried this brand SD but wouldn't hesitate if given a chance. The other Eastern European shave creams I have used were very good. Looking forward to what you have to say in your review.
A Bulgarian gent is sending me a tube with some Polsilver blades and I've never even heard of this cream.
I'm asking to know if I need to post a review and also what I can expect. I'm betting he isn't sending me something he hates.[/quote...............YES ! PLEASE post a review, bulgarian creams have a good reputation so far, even if it turns out to be a dud, the forum is always interested...
Here's a post from Jeff (crackstar) from the past. I remember reading a review somewhere else, from someone who was in Europe and bought a tube of it, and they were saying it was very good shaving cream. Please let us know what you think of it, when you get the chance.

I actually tried both the versions of Top Ten, and I think very highly of them. These creams smell lovely and give great lather and skincare. They are different. I see now the tubes look different from the ones I had.
I just received there wholesale sheet this morning. I am contemplating a deal with them as a replacement for Arko products along with the other products I have presently. Arko remains good in my opinion just not a good line for a vendor at this point. They make a number of Nivea type after shaves and a tube cream after shave as well. The parent company is a private label company for many supermarkets over there including Tesco.
For the record I do not sell this so please no panic in the streets when a vendor weighs in like this.

No I have not but I must say it is not really worth it. These are budget creams or hard to obtain ones. It seems the standard here and on other boards is Truefitt and or Penhaligons, MDC etc.
I kind of am a bit confused here, what do members expect or look for, that kind of performance at these price points ? What is in it for me to bring in a pallet of these products, shave creams in many variants, after shaves etc when the first few sell quickly only to be ripped to shreds on these boards held to some impossible standard not for what the product is.
These are a drugstore level shave cream for brushes in this thread and others that I have on the site yet people hold them to boutique product standards in their reviews which kill sales after they are posted. Not really worth doing it with the Top Ten as I see it and I am glad now the Fresh Up deal I worked on fell through.

FWIW, not all of us demand boutique shave soaps/creams.
Sure, I'd like to get $25 soap performance from a $1.25 stick of Arko, but everyone knows that isn't going to happen. There's a reason it sells for $1.25. I haven't a clue how Arko can ship over here and sell for as little as it does in bulk. I've seen it for $6 and I don't think I'd pay that for it. It works, but for a dollar or 2 more I can get something made here that's better.
I don't exactly know where I'm going with this post, but there is a market for inexpensive products that work. I have no idea if there's money to be made though.
Personally I like the challenge of getting good performance from the inexpensive soaps/creams, especially the soaps that others have a difficult time with, like Williams. Used right it works great. It'll never be a high end soap, but it does the job admirably once one figures out how to use it.
In the end it's up to you if you decide to bring in a pallet of whatever I guess. Shipping is expensive and is it worth while to bring a $1 tube of cream over and then charge $5 for it? I'm not saying you shouldn't get your $ back and make a profit, but is the product worth the $ after adding the expenses? That'd be something for you to figure out.

BTW, I still haven't seen the blades or the cream. The gent who sent it asked me if I have, but no, not yet.
Good thing I have no skin in the game. It was a one way deal; he offered, I accepted, and he wanted nothing in return. (I'm waiting for the shoe to drop once (if) I get the package.)
Of course I already looked at this before starting out. The point of my post is you have to expect a certain level of performance based on price point. There is a market for these products just as there is one for Arko and other similar items. They have to come over in pallet form of mixed goods to keep the price low. Shipping via courier small amounts of product in the end costs more as a pallet can ship for about 600.00 via sea voyage. Divide that among the amount of tubes or pieces on the pallet plus some customs fees and you get your cost per tube in addition to the purchase price of course. After shaves cannot ship via courier as they become a haz mat issue so they must go by sea especially in any bulk amount. Is there money in it, yes there is. You would be surprised that just because an item of let us say TOB or T/H are priced as such does not mean there is a bigger profit in them. Remember there is Amazon to deal with and a multitude of sellers to compete with in these products that are a bit over saturated on the vendor side of it.
If the standard is Truefitt and other boutique quality items for these reviews then leave it at that, purchase nothing less than that product or price point.

FWIW, the Bulgarian Cream and blades have finally arrived.
I'll post a review after I try it. Initial response from the smallest of smears from the seal on the tube- strongly scented.
The blades that came in are Polsilver Super Iridium from, well, I think from St. Petersburg, distributed out of Warsaw. The other blades are BIC Astor Stainless.
