Both nice. The eBay one looks a little dressier to me.

I prefer the automatic, but is that a scratch on its bezel? If so, then go for the quartz.
Best,

I think I prefer the quartz. I like the looks of it.

Chris, he said the bezel has some scratches but I can get that polished out easy enough.

I like the subseconds on the auto, but the quartz is a cleaner, simpler face and I do love that hobnailing (coin edge) on the quartz. I think the quartz may get up to $200 on ebay and the auto is my preference.

My body has issues with batteries (drains a quartz watch battery in a week or so) so I would choose the automatic for myself.

However, for you, I think it would depend on the size of your hands and wrists. A 40mm watch may seem overly large if you have smaller hands or skinny forearms.

I do think the quartz watch has a slightly more elegant look to it, but the automatic would wear nicely with business attire.

I bought a discontinued Rolex model in 1990 as a celebration of the birth of my son. Turns out it has been the best investment (if I felt free to sell it) I have ever made. Cost $8,000US, offered $30,000CAN for it now, Hope they never make an exotic African wood faced model again and it keeps going up!

I like the eBay posting - aesthetically they're equal in my eyes, and the price is great on the eBay auction.

Mike, to the eye, the Ebay one is a bit dressier. However, it seems like the final bid will be north of $200. The timezone one, has a brown croc strap with aftermarket deployant (preferred by me) and then I can always remove the tang buckle from the shot original one. I negotiated a lower price for the auto and it will be shipped Monday.

The quartz will be more accurate, the real watch has more personality.

Got the watch and for me, seems an odd duck. I guess it is the brown croc strap. To me, a croc strap is dress and dress is black. Maybe a brown croc works for a black dial to make it more casual, but on the white face watch, seems like an odd duck. And I already have a black strap watch in a JLC, so I will wait until the JLC comes back and sell one of them.

To me that says you can either wear it casual or dressy. You can always just buy a black band to swap it out when need be. I liked the one you chose the best.

Lovely watches! Mine is a vintage bulova auto; white face ( black came into use for combat) and black strap. My great grandmother told me a lady ( and employers) always judged a man by his shoes and watch
