The Taylor Rose performed wonderfully with the smooth Feather glide. New to the UC Balm. Quite thick but worked well on a cold New England morning.

Thursday:

Gillette Model #58 & Polisilver blade
Simpson Duke #2 Best
D R Harris's Rose shave cream
D R Harris's Pink A/S
Trumpers Spanish Leather

This is the current 'Polisilver' blade produced in St. Petersburg, Russia by/for Gillette. Unfortunately I never got to try the earlier version from Poland I believe it was. Measured by the standards of what is available today these seem like a superior product. It's not a 'Swede' or LB Wilkinson by any means but it does seem like a blade that is useable by me ( which is saying quite a bit since most current blades I've tried have been totally unacceptable ). This pack was sent to me by a kind member in Australia and I'm most appreciative of the opportunity to try them out. I'm not sure what his source was but, presumably, these things are at least relatively available for us in the US.

Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
Razor: iKon OSS
Blade: Gillette Dark Blue
Brush: Simpson Colonel X2L Best
Soap: Tabac
A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel/Tabac Splash

A fine shave this morning. Tabac has always performed well, and its distinctive, but somewhat controversial, scent has grown on me. The iKon, with a new blade, effortlessly sliced off the stubble, and I'm now ready for the day.
