I used some of my sample of Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet and though it is quite pleasant, it seems to fade rather quickly and is hardly noticeable. I get the occasional pleasant hint of it, but even where I tried some on my wrist it fades to where you can barely tell it is/was there.
Is this the nature of Penhaligon's EDTs, this one in particular or is it just that I did not apply enough? I apllied about the same as I use of my 2 Geo F Trumper scents (Spanish Leather and GFT).
How much do you apply, where and how do you apply it?

Just like any other scent! My favourite of all time is English Fern, which is similar to Trumper Wild Fern, but stronger.

Re: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet?
I tried the Penhaligon's No. 33 Eau de Cologne (sample) and have decided that after a little while of wearing it...I am not a fan. I am guessing this is what Gordon would have called a 'modern' scent. There is a bit of...I don't know...department store quality to it. The fragrance is not as smooth as Blenheim Bouquet or others. Apparently it was launched in 2015.
Of course this one lingers and seems to have more staying power than Blenheim Bouquet. It is a shame. The good things don't seem to last and others never fade away.
- - according to the fragrantica websiteNo. 33 Eau de Cologne by Penhaligon's is a Aromatic Fougere fragrance for men. No. 33 Eau de Cologne was launched in 2015. Top notes are Clary Sage, Bergamot, Cypress, Coriander, Artemisia, Orange and Grapefruit; middle notes are Lavender, Cardamom, Geranium, Black Pepper, Saffron, Ginger, Violet, Lily-of-the-Valley, Rose and Jasmine; base notes are Musk, Moss, Cedar, Tobacco, Tonka Bean, Vetiver, Vanilla and Amber.

Re: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet?
I recently opened my spare bottle of Taylor's Sandalwood aftershave, and it is quite different to the old bottle. Lighter in colour and lighter in scent. The old one had undoubtedly aged and been affected by light: it was the colour of cream sherry and had a thick varnish-like scent. The new one isn't unpleasant, but it doesn't smell of sandalwood and whatever scent is there, seems diluted.

Re: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet?
That is too bad about Taylor's Sandalwood aftershave. The more I am interested in exploring the tried and true scents that were so popular, the more they are either changed or discontinued.
I thought they discontinued Hammam Bouquet. But, apparently not, (unless it is just being re-released and/or reformulated). Here is a link to Penhaligon's website for Hammam Bouquet.
Unfortunately, I can't have it shipped to the USA even if I knew for sure I liked it, much less a sample.

Re: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet?
Good to see that they are bringing back some of the classics. I see something called Highgrove Bouquet on their website. The prices have risen beyond belief. I’ll not be buying anything. I have an older version of HB. The single warrant era. Very animalic and potent. I tried the version that was around not long before it disappeared and it was very tame and watery compared to the old stuff. The days of civet, castoreum and other powerhouse frag bases are over. I hope that the BB shaving cream comes back. It used to be very good. That said, I’m not sure I’d gamble a c note in the hope that it was still good. I’ll wait to see trusted reviews, by which time it will likely be sold out if it is any good.

Re: Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet?
Looking up information about the 14 samples in Penhaligon's Scent Library I ordered a few years ago, including that No.33, I used yesterday, I have come to understand about half of those samples are now useless as they are for discontinued offerings. So, even if I did find one I wanted to pay the high asking price, it isn't an option. I guess I am not the only one that failed to like the No.33 as it was launched in 2015 and discontinued only a few short years later according to online reading.
Here is one site that has information on several houses and their offerings. The link seen HERE goes to the Penhaligon's page.
