"MY" Simpsons Luxury Shave Cream Review

Here's a fantastic British produced shaving cream that will be a delight for any British cream lover. I'm a big fan of some British soaps, but I LOVE this cream!

Ease of lathering: 10/10 - Wow, an explosion of rich lather so fast!

Longevity of lather: 10/10 - Perfect stability for multi-passes.

General skincare: 8/10 - Quite protective and comfortable.

Scent: 10/10 - Brilliant - a non-scent that I LOVE!

Price: £12.95 – That’s about $20.02 USD.

Would I buy again: 10/10 - You bet!

This cream has such an "old-school" feel, which the British soaps were famous for many years ago. When I was lathering up with this stuff this morning, I thought of my Dad. He used British soaps after WWII when I was a kid.

From the ingredients list it looks like a standard Creighton's cream.

Am I mistaken or is this the first actual 'review' of this stuff that we've had? I saw the lid in the Simpson site pics but never knew if the cream had really been produced yet or what. When/if it was released I had always assumed that I'd give it a try unless members here thought it was poor. In fact, it sounds like it's pretty damn good and if it is 'a standard ( old style ) Creighton cream' well, I'd be delighted with that. I gather that it has some sort of scent but that scent is pretty mild?....any attempt at description would be appreciated. And where is it available?

Gordon

Gordon,

There is no scent added to the current soap. It does have a soap smell to it. My understanding is they will be adding scents later on. I personally like the way it smells. When through, the face rinses clean and fresh, and there is nothing to interfere with you choice of after shave.

It has only been released for a short time and the only place I've seen it is here:

Great work Johnny....and fast. Yes, this does look appealing. The white color and texture are up my alley. Looks like Mark certainly did his homework on this project. A non colored Rose would be attractive!

Johnny et. al., thanks for the prompt feedback. Sounds interesting but I'll probably have to hold off for now as funds are tight and I certainly have enough shave creams and soaps to get by for awhile. That being the case, I will probably miss out on this edition since you say it is for a limited time only. However, if it reappears later, and with a choice of scents, I will almost certainly try some.
Regards,
Gordon

I look forward to trying this when it comes out from some US vendors. I'm OK with unscented - can always add a dash of a decent EO. I hope that if Simpsons does add some scented ones to the line up that they are not colored. Coloring does nothing good IMO - just stains the brush bristles and adds nasty chemicals.

Simpsons state:

"Only the smallest amount of cream is needed with the generous addition of water"

Johnny, did you use less cream and more water than usual?

I had to think about this for a minute and I guess the answer would be yes. I just dab a damp brush in the cream then take it to my mug to start making lather and adding water as needed. I guess I would say it takes less cream and about the same amount of water that I always use with say, Proraso cream.

Very interesting lineup Mark! Six creams to boot. Looks like great additions to the wet shaving community.
