Revisiting the past

The other day I got out a Merkur HD, one that sits upon a bulbous Edwin Jagger handle and put a fresh Merkur blade in it. My only safety razor shaves have been, for years now, with a General and a Feather Professional. But I felt like a change, and I was surprised at how easily the Merkur blade slid through the stubble. Not generally a very highly regarded blade, but I have a lot of them stashed away. I've had three shaves now and still haven't got an ingrown hair, which has always been something that happens with DE shaves for me. Maybe I'm using less pressure.
