As for the burning everybody in here is having, may I suggest doing a cold cloth press after the shave to close up the pores before you throw on the AS?

If it's a choice between smelling like I want, and actually having my personal space invaded, I'm still young enough that I can't but pick the latter.

I will add at this point that my significant other is a few years my senior, at 49.

I had this same problem, rinse, pat dry, splash, scream. . .

Now just use a balm and put the AS on afterward, no problems.
