It's spelled "Aqua Lavandra Puig" but it's pronounced "Throat-warbler Mangrove". . .

I'm rather fond of her for her distinct lack of the Innsmouth-look. . .

Gil, I think the same nerve pathways that cause the alcohol burn would also be responsible for the spice burn? If the cold press works for the alcohol, maybe it'll be the ticket for the spice as well. Of course you could take the extreme route in the other direction. Just rub habaneros all over your...

Nuts. So much for my plans of marketing a Habanero and Wasabi aftershave.
I'd buy that!

Probably go well on tacos, too!

As for the burning everybody in here is having, may I suggest doing a cold cloth press after the shave to close up the pores before you throw on the AS?

At least we have very different schedules. I can generally get away with wearing whatever the hell I want for days on end, then use some of the Ogallala scents she's gotten used to when we're out on the town. Still, I do like the Tabac, Perhaps in lower quantities with stuff she likes she'll come ar...

Sorry for you, Squire.

If it's a choice between smelling like I want, and actually having my personal space invaded, I'm still young enough that I can't but pick the latter.

I will add at this point that my significant other is a few years my senior, at 49.

So when she says I smell like her dad, she means I smell like an 80 year old farmer. . .

I had this same problem, rinse, pat dry, splash, scream. . .

Now just use a balm and put the AS on afterward, no problems.

Addendum: Saw the significant other briefly this evening. She immediately asked what I was wearing. . . and "You smell like lonely old-fucker." There was then a discussion on my preferred AS/Colognes and she basically said she doesn't like anything I've ever bought for myself. Also, that t...

Okay, BullGoose had some on sale and I had some "spare" money, so I bought myself a bottle of Tabac EDC. . . Why did I never try this stuff before!? This is certainly going into daily rotation. I love the scent, though I'll have to be careful as I swear it got more potent in the half hour ...

I have one brush, the first one I bought at my introduction to wet-shaving early last year was this: http://amzn.com/B002RJC1HC I have soap melted into the bottom of a big mug, I swirl my wet brush into it and make lather. Occasionally I use a clean mug and add a bit of shaving cream or a soap sampl...

El Cheapo goes on Holiday

Gentlemen! I am surprised there are no stickies on this forum! I'm looking for an "Idiot's Guide" to brushes. I keep hearing about standard, pure, premium, badgers, boar, knots and so on. I'm trying to read all the posts that come up, but I find I am woefully undereducated in the terminolo...

I have to agree with pretty much everybody above! There is a variety of Old Spice now, but it's the old original formula that our dads and granddads wore. Use the Cornhusker's sparingly! It gets made not too far from here, my father uses it on his hands after he's been working on engines all day, so...

Phil,

Are you guys phasing out your selection of Ogallala Bay Rum products?

Just curious, I was on your site to get some more soap, etc.

And in going to the store to get a variety of Yardley. . .

Has anybody seen the "new" Pomegranite Rose and Cocoa Butter?

Any thoughts on the new flavors? (I haven't opened one yet because I refuse to put more than 2 bars in the soap dish!)

Re: The Return of El Cheapo. . .

I've been thinking about this thread a little. Cheap has a natural partner, Fast. :D I wanted to know what I could buy locally for a cheap and fast shaving experience. Perhaps for those mornings when I need a very fast shave but don't want to lose my gentleman wetshaver's card. I just shaved with t...
